National Campaign Officially Launched

Ottawa – The Canadian Future Party will launch its first national campaign at a media event to take place on Wednesday, April 2nd, at noon at the Arc Hotel in Ottawa. For more information contact: media@ourcanadianfuture.com

“The Canadian Future Party is here to defend Canadians against our nation’s greatest challenges” says Dominic Cardy, Leader of the CFP. “We offer fresh, no-nonsense and evidence-based solutions developed by and for Canadians, to defend our country’s independence, to make life better and more affordable, and to build our country into the world’s northern democratic superpower.”

The party calls for an end to defense partnerships with the United States until it returns to stability, diplomatic penalties for any foreign government officials that question Canadian independence, and a special visa class to attract US health, defense, and other experts, and skilled trades people.

In a world threatened by authoritarianism, the CFP stands for strengthening democracy at home and abroad. “We commit to defending Canada from any threats we may face in the coming decades,” says Cardy. “The first step in this process is to immediately increase defense spending to 2.25% of our GDP. These funds will improve pay and living conditions for our troops, refill our depleted stockpiles of ammunition and equipment, and begin a radical expansion of the Canadian Armed Forces that will see us move, in partnerships with our allies, to increase funding towards five per cent of GDP. We will create the Resiliency Corps, a civil defense force to relieve the Canadian Armed Forces’ responsibility for managing civil emergency projects and other non-military operations.”

The party will make democracy deliver for Canadians by allowing Members of Parliament freer votes on bills that benefit their constituents – ending the practice of MPs serving as voting machines for party leaders. The CFP will reform the tax code, a project no government has touched since the 1960s: eliminating loopholes for the well-connected and simplifying the system for everyone else. They will also restore trust in our once world-renowned immigration system.

The party will push for a West-East pipeline to allow Canadian energy to power our democratic allies in Europe – and to fund our transition to a post-carbon economy. Eliminating provincial trade barriers and other internal barriers – like professional licenses – to allow for stronger partnerships and drive new industries.
