Paul is a dedicated community advocate with over 30 years of service in Calgary. Passionate about social causes, he has volunteered with the Veterans Association Food Bank since its inception and has spent two decades privately supporting the temporary homeless, individuals with substance use disorders, and those living with mental health conditions. As a field worker for the Saint Vincent de Paul Society (currently on leave), he has provided hands-on assistance to those in need.
Beyond advocacy, Paul has a deep appreciation for the arts. He has been a member of the Imperial Circle Calgary Opera for over 20 years and currently serves as President and Chair of the Southern Alberta Opera Development Foundation.
Professionally, he has a diverse background spanning trades, surveying, and business. For 25 years, he was a journeyman member of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental, and Reinforcing Iron Workers. He has also worked as a cartographer, GIS specialist, and surveyor with Seisland Surveys. In addition, he has held leadership roles as a partner and service advisor at Artistic Auto Body Calgary Limited and as head service manager for The Maintainers, a building service management company.
With a strong interest in justice and advocacy, Paul attended the Justice Administration program at Mount Royal College (now the Criminal Justice degree program). He also spent several months in England and Ireland studying their legal systems before returning to Canada to work as an advocate for the Calgary City Police Victim Services Unit.
He remains deeply engaged in community service, professional development, and the arts, using his experience to support and uplift those in need.
