Yurii Yavorskyi

A resident of the Guelph community, Yurii Yavorskyi grew up in Ukraine and immigrated to Canada with his parents and a brother in 1994. His parents instilled in him the values of education, hard work, and helping one’s neighbors.

Yurii graduated from Bishop Allen Academy High School in Etobicoke in 1997 to continue his education journey at York University in Toronto, where he achieved a bachelor’s degree in arts, majoring in history. During his years of secondary education, he was an active member of the Ukrainian Youth Association, where principles of ethics and support for the Ukrainian community, as well as the importance of being a responsible Canadian citizen, were taught.

Together with the history degree, Yurii achieved a diploma in Travel and Tourism and spent over 8 years working for hotels, airlines, and tour operators in the Canadian tourism industry. These fulfilling years he spent traveling, learning about numerous foreign countries and cultures, and understanding how many things we have in common with people around the world. Currently, Yurii is working for a regulatory body in Ontario, where he is assisting students to achieve their goals in becoming accounting professionals.

Yurii is passionate about history, travel, learning new languages, and community outreach. He is a member of the executive at a local community organization in Guelph, which assists the war refugees and fosters cooperation among the various communities in the city, where he resides. He is eager to learn and recently completed a Master of Business Administration degree from Fredericton University.

As numerous neighbors and friends in Guelph, Yurii was not a stranger to the difficulties the community is experiencing in healthcare, affordable housing, and job security. At the same time, he can see how strong the residents of Guelph are when they come to the aid of their fellow residents and the newcomers when help is needed.

Yurii has decided to run for office, as he believes that the Canada Future Party is the platform that is able to reach out to all Canadians whose voices were not heard and whose needs have not been met. He is ready to step forward and discuss with the Guelph community the improvements we need to make as a government for the good of all people.
